I offer family therapy to any combination of family members who want to improve their communication and relationship.

Sometimes when you know someone for your or their whole life, you don't allow them to grow beyond their past selves. You create expectations of each other and your behaviors, which means  you don't actually see or hear them or allow them to grow and change. I will create a space in which you and your relatives can feel safe to drop your defenses and preconceived notions to be present for one another's current selves. A wise woman taught me that empathy is not walking a mile in someone else's shoes, but trusting their reported experience of what it's like to be in their shoes. Together, let's work on building that trust and empathy so you and your loved ones can really hear and understand each other.
